Tempted By Love
Once we made it to the concert, the place was so packed; we couldn’t get inside the building. The security staff made some people go home, including Lewis and I. Of course, I was slightly disappointed at first, but I began to feel appreciative that I was spending time with Lewis, and that’s all that mattered to me.
Instead of going home, we decided to go to a local nightclub in Downtown Dallas. The club was off the chain!  As we walked inside, one of my favorite Lil Wayne songs blasted through the speakers.
“That’s my song!” I yelled as I danced my way to the dance floor with Lewis tagging along.  He got behind me, and I started to grind my ass against him.  He couldn’t take his hands off of me.  At that moment, everything felt like it was in slow motion and it felt like Lewis and I were the only ones on the dance floor.  I smiled when he hugged me tightly with the continued sway of our body to the latest hip-hop song.  I glazed into Lewis’ light brown eyes; and just when I was about to give him a passionate kiss, a big breasted woman  with a skin tight purple dress and leather black boots and too much makeup, interrupted us.
“Lewis, is that you?” The woman said with an attitude.
Lewis turned his head and looked at the woman, “Hey… what’s up, Marcella?”  He sounded a little nervous.
I strangely eyed Marcella, trying to figure out how Lewis knew this woman. Instead of giving the woman an evil eye, I gave a fake smile and greeted Marcella but my eyes kept a chill on her.
“So, is she your friend, Lewis?” she finally took her eyes off of me and turned her gaze towards Lewis.
I answered for Lewis, “No I’m not his friend, I’m his girlfriend and you are?”
Surprised by what I had just expressed, she placed her hand over her month and said, “Oh, really?  Lewis you never mentioned a girlfriend. Since –”
Before Marcella can say anything else, Lewis cut her off and said, “It’s time for us to leave.”  He grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the exit.
“Who was that woman, Lewis?” I asked him with an attitude and was beginning to get angry as strange suspicious feelings started to linger into my head.
“She’s just one of my sister’s friends,” He nervously explained.
While Lewis drove me home, once again he gave me this lame ass excuse on how he had to go to work in the morning, which left me upset and confused.  I wanted to talk about the woman in the club again, but I knew he was going to make up another lie or excuse. So I left it alone, for now.
Lewis was silent the whole time, and he had a worried look on his face like something was on his mind. Once he got a chance to park the car in front of my apartment parking lot, I finally took the opportunity to ask him. “What’s wrong? You look like something’s bothering you.”
“There’s nothing wrong, just go inside,” He finally looked me in my eyes.
I frowned and said, “Lewis, I’m tired of you playing games. One minute you’re okay and then the next minute you don’t want to be around me, what’s up with you?”
“It’s not like that,” He sighed. “I just need to go, okay.”
“No! Stop brushing me off and tell me what’s on your mind. Why are you treating me like I don’t mean anything to you?  If it’s someone else you want to be with, just let me know so I can move on.”
